About The LEGO Batman Movie
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham City, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
Opening February 10, 2017, The LEGO Batman Movie stars Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson and Ralph Fiennes. Directed by Chris McKay, produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Roy Lee, from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Jared Stern & John Whittington, story by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on LEGO Construction Toys and based on characters from DC Entertainment. LEGO Cancels Development of New LEGO Dimensions Toys
Another video game franchise has bit the dust and it included some nice DC Comics collectibles! LEGO, Warner Bros. and TT Games have stopped producing new expansions for LEGO Dimensions. Existing expansion packs will still be available for purchase, and servers will continue to run, but there won’t be any new toys or gameplay. The news came in the form of a Tweet from the official LEGO Dimensions Twitter account, which you can see below:
From building and rebuilding to the most bricktacular mash-ups, the Multiverse would be nothing without our amazing community. Thank you. pic.twitter.com/NEDbBXqjyZ

The game was originally to have a three-year plan. Eurogamer was first to report on Lego Dimensions’ original three-year plan before the game launched back in October 2015. It was a blueprint which TT Games was able to stick with throughout the game’s first year and well into its planning of the second. After that, however, it became clear the game wouldn’t last as long as hoped.
Sales at the start of the second year did not come in as expected. On top of that, the stagnant market of collectibles toys used in video games finally put the game over the edge.
Several nice DC Comics sets were released for the game including the LEGO Batman Movie Story pack, Teen Titans Go! Team pack, Starfire Fun pack, Excalibur Batman Fun pack, Bane Fun pack, Aquaman Fun pack, Superman Fun pack, DC Comics Team pack, Wonder Woman Fun pack and a Cyborg Fun pack.
That is still quite a bit of LEGO collecting to be had. If you are a savvy buyer, you can probably score some of these sets very cheap at your local brick and mortar stores. Now that the game has officially been canceled, expect these sets to start going on sale.
RIP LEGO Dimensions!
